Three Guitar Greats at River Run

Guelph, ON, January 28, 2010 - River Run Centre presents Pavlo,
Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 8 p.m.
as part of its Blackmont Capital Music & More Series. These three guitar
luminaries have come together to create a true collaborative show –
blending Mediterranean magic, triumphant fusion and hot Latin fire.
Separately, Pavlo, Emmett and Lopez have forged brilliant solo careers
garnering numerous international accolades and critical praise. The trio
came together in the summer of 2008, over an excellent meal and an
intense jam session in northeast Toronto. The collaboration has resulted
in a joint release, Trifecta, a group of songs dedicated to the romantic
spirit of the guitar, and an extensive Canadian concert tour, with many
shows already sold out.
They are from widely different backgrounds. Canadian-born Pavlo is a
first generation Greek whose ability to combine the Greek bouzouki with
spicy Latin flavour results in a unique Mediterranean meld. Rik Emmett
burst onto the North American rock scene with Triumph in 1975,
establishing himself as a master guitarist with one of the most powerful
voices in the industry. Chilean born Oscar Lopez has a distinctive Latin
guitar groove that has made him a stand-out on the world music scene.
Their music ranges from tender, playful, intimate melodies to dizzying
solos . These superstars can do it all – from Latin rhumba to swinging
jump; bossa nova to rock & roll; a child’s lullaby to a Mardi Gras Fiesta.
Pavlo, Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez light up everything they touch
with passion and outstanding musical skill. The alchemy conjured up is
a rare, magnificent, once-in-a-lifetime concert experience for any music
lover.
Tickets for Pavlo, Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez are on sale now
through the River Run Centre box office, with prices ranging from $33
- $40. As part of the uGO program, university and college students
may purchase tickets at the box office for only $20 each. And through
eyeGO, high school students may attend for just $5 each. Tickets may
